  • The MyConnext Reporting Tool is committed to data privacy. The MyConnext Reporting Tool is powered and protected by Pluto 5000 – a technology company with Data Locker technology to ensure your information will remain safe and secure.

  • Your information will go directly to your organization’s Administrator who will process your report. No other entity, organization, or individual will have access to your information. The Hollywood Commission does not see or handle any reports or information submitted to The MyConnext Reporting Tool.

  • A designated Administrator from your organization will receive your report.

To investigate a report, the Administrator may share information with the production team or other team members on a need-to-know basis. An investigation cannot be completely confidential because it may be necessary to share information during the process to complete it and take appropriate action. In some cases, your identity may be confidential, but the details of your complaint will not.

  • Your organization’s administrator will see your report. They may share information on a need-to-know basis to investigate your report. An investigation can't be completely confidential because some information might be needed to take the necessary action. Your employer will keep your identity as confidential as possible but may need to disclose the details of your complaint.

If you use the Hold for Match feature, your anonymous report will be stored indefinitely until another member of your organization reports the same person you identified. When two or more reports match, your anonymous report will be sent to your organization’s administrator. Once the administrator gets your report, they’ll reach out through MyConnext’s Anonymous Messaging feature to ask additional questions and provide information about your reporting options.

Because of Pluto 5000’s Data Locker technology, administrators can reach out to you through the Anonymous Messaging feature without accessing your identity Simply put, the tool can connect our Anonymous Report with an Anonymous Message, without revealing your identity to the person (Administrator) messaging you.

  • To use the MyConnext Reporting Tool, including its two-way messaging feature, your report and/or message must be attached to some contact information. Any email address you’d like to provide will work.

If privacy is a concern, you can create an anonymous email address to use when you make a report. Remember, your report will be anonymous unless you disclose your information.

  • Your organization’s Administrator will review your report to determine the appropriate next steps.

Your organization may contact you for more details to determine the next steps. Throughout the process, your organization may contact you directly or through two-way anonymous messaging to update you on the status of your report.

  • No. Once your report is released, your organization’s Administrator will see it. In most cases, your organization is required by law to follow up with an investigation or to take disciplinary action.

You can tell your organization that you have changed your mind or want to rescind your report. However, this may not be legally possible for your organization.

  • Yes. Federal and state laws prohibit an employer from retaliation against any person (whether or not an employee) for reporting discrimination or harassment, assisting another person in making a complaint, testifying, or otherwise participating in a discrimination or harassment investigation.

The law prohibits retaliation, from threats and negative performance reviews to termination or non-renewal of employment. Whether the underlying complaint is refuted or found to lack merit, retaliation is considered a separate violation.

If you face retaliation, you may report to an employer or file a complaint with a federal or state agency.

  • No. To ensure immediate and effective action, please do not use this tool to report instances of child abuse. If you suspect or are aware of child abuse, contact local law enforcement or child protective services directly.

Statute of Limitations

  • Statutes of Limitations are strict deadlines for filing formal complaints with government agencies or claims in court.

Depending on the state, employees may have 180 days or 300 days from the date of harassment to file a discrimination complaint (or “charge”) with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

    • Filing an internal complaint or report to an employer does not extend the deadline to file a complaint with the EEOC or state anti-discrimination agency.

    • Filing a grievance with a union does not extend the deadline to file a complaint with the EEOC or state anti-discrimination agency.

    • Creating a timestamped record within the MyConnext Reporting Tool does not extend the deadline to file a complaint with the EEOC or state anti-discrimination agency.

    • The Hold for Match feature does not extend the deadline to file a complaint with the EEOC or state anti-discrimination agency.

In addition to the EEOC, employees can file charges with their state’s fair employment practices agency (e.g., California’s Civil Rights Department (CRD)).

Click here for information about each state’s fair employment practices agency and dual filing.

  • While there are Statutes of Limitations – strict deadlines for filing formal complaints with government agencies or claims in court – there are no deadlines or time limits for using any feature of the MyConnext Reporting Tool.

  • Yes. If you are punished for speaking out against sexual harassment or discrimination at work with one or more co-workers, you have 6 months to file an unfair labor practice claim with the National Labor Relations Board.
